Answers before you write
Is Saabit an FBR app?
No. Saabit is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). It reads FBR's public Active Taxpayer List and FBR's published property values.
Where does the filer status come from, and what is the list date?
From FBR's public Active Taxpayer List (ATL). Saabit checks for FBR's newest list every night, and every answer shows the date of the list it came from. For anything official, confirm with FBR: the Tax Asaan app, or SMS "ATL <CNIC>" to 9966.
Someone filed their return but shows as Non-filer.
FBR adds people to the Active Taxpayer List after processing the return; Saabit checks for FBR's newest list every night. Check the list date shown with the result, and confirm with FBR if needed.
Why is the tax higher than my price?
FBR charges the property tax (236K for the buyer, 236C for the seller) on the higher of your price and the FBR value of the area. If the FBR value of the plot is above your price, the tax is worked out on the FBR value. In the app, pick the city and area and enter the size to see that value.
Is my CNIC stored?
Not on our server. It does not store or log the numbers you check; they are used only to answer that request. Your recent checks, with the full number, are saved only on your phone. Details are in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my recent checks?
Saabit has no account, so there is nothing to delete on our side. Recent checks live only on your phone: clear them in the app under More → Clear recent checks, turn saving off there, or delete the app.
"Check the number" appears.
A CNIC has 13 digits (12345-1234567-1); an NTN has 8 (0000092-2), or one letter and 7 digits (A000072-0).
"Too many checks".
To stop bots, checking pauses after 10 checks in 2 minutes, and there is a daily limit. Wait for the time shown and try again.
Does Saabit cover Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan?
No. AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan have their own tax law, so FBR's property tax (236K/236C) doesn't apply there and Saabit's tax estimates don't cover them.
How do I become a filer?
- Register on FBR's IRIS portal (iris.fbr.gov.pk). For individuals your NTN is your CNIC number.
- File your income tax return for the latest tax year before the deadline (usually 30 September).
- Your name appears on the ATL after FBR processes it. If you file late, you can still get on the list by paying a late-filing surcharge.
Check before you sign.
